Business Retention

The future strength of the economy of Wisconsin’s Forest economy is highly dependent upon the success and growth of businesses that already exist in Forest County. The Forest County Economic Development Partnership works with existing businesses on an ongoing basis to determine the health and strength of the local economy. The FCEDP executive director and volunteer members of our Business Retention committee work to make local companies stronger by identifying and helping address their business needs.

FCEDP’s executive director and volunteers regularly meet with area business owners and leaders to discuss a number of important topics:

  • Address issues with local government
  • Identify resources that foster business success
  • Refer information to appropriate policy makers
  • Uncover trends affecting local business conditions

Thus far during 2012, FCEDP’s executive director has conducted many business retention interviews with a diverse group of local manufacturing, service, construction, retail and tourism businesses to thank them for doing business in the county and to assist them in resolving any issues constraining their growth. We will utilize Executive Pulse, an on-line business retention software package being employed throughout Northeast Wisconsin, which allows for data mining and reporting capabilities on both the local and regional level. Findings from Executive Pulse will be included in the FCEDP Annual Report.
